EWB-SDSU is involved in many local projects around the San Diego area. The Border Angels Project
We are currently wrapping up a project with Border Angels. Border Angels is a non-profit organization which advocates for human rights, humane immigration reform, and social justice for all. Border Angels provide assistance in legal consultations, education programs, desert water drops, job outreach, and resource-filled caravans to Tijuana.
We partnered with this organization to design filter straws to be dropped in the desert for traveling migrants. The straw will be used on a local water source to filter out bacteria and other contaminants to make the water potable. If you would like more information or to contribute to this project, please contact our local project lead, Jared Agos, at [email protected].
